Director Ann Hui’s “The Way We Were” won her Best Director in the 28th Hong Kong Film Festival. Picking up her award, she said,”When I was a student, I thought winning a prize at Cannes was the best thing. But I’ve matured. Now I realise that receiving an award from my own people makes me happiest.”
How deeply true.
