A Break from Photography; but it’s still visual!

Christel, Jason and I joined “Fly By Night 2008″ this year as a short break from photography.

A little history of “Fly By Night”

“The Fly by Night Video Challenge is a video event in Singapore that encourages you to make the video you have always wanted to make - in one weekend. The theme of the Challenge is announced on Friday night at  7.30pm. You have 41 hrs to conceptualise and make your 5-minute video. All entries have to be submitted on Sunday noon, and they will be screened back to back on the same day. Fly By Night is started by local filmmaker Tan Pin Pin and film curator Yuni Hadi. Since it began in 2003, artists, filmmakers, non-filmmakers, families, animators and students have participated in this event. No experience is necessary. This event strives to promote filmmaking in Singapore.”

A quote from the Master of Environmental Portraiture (Arnold Newman)

“We don’t take pictures with our cameras, we take them with our hearts and our minds, Cameras are tools, but we try to use the best we can manage.” - Arnold Newman, 2001

How deadly true the above is.

One of the most important article for any photographer.

Importance of development

I cannot deny the importance of going to photo workshops to learn, improve and develop …

I just attended a photo workshop conducted by a very brilliant photographer. He is probably one of the best in the way he shoots a wedding. You should check out his website at http://www.yervant.com/.
